Why Love Can Shine Light On Darkness

“The opposite of darkness isn't light, it’s love!” - Twitches, Film

It’s my birthday season coming up very soon and I can’t help but think of one of my favorite Disney Halloween films called, Twitches starring Tia and Tamera Mowry. It’s about two girls discovering that they are twin witches who must defeat darkness trying to destroy their homeland, Coventry. I know… it’s such a cute film.

Well, in the process of trying to destroy the darkness with light, they realize the only way to defeat the darkness is with love. This quote has always had a place within my heart for many years: The opposite of darkness isn't light, it’s love! This quote couldn’t be more true.

Okay, so we might not see a spooky darkness lurking around us but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have days where we don’t feel our best. I know I’ve had moments when I’m not feeling happy but that okay. Being human is a great thing. We are here to experience all kinds of emotions but the emotion that makes you feel like not getting out of the bed means you need a little boost of l - o - v - e.

When I was in college, I noticed I became very unhappy and I didn’t want to put on a fake face to pretend that I was. It’s very unhealthy to pretend that you are happy because then you are putting your feelings in dormant instead of dealing with them. Well, I never knew why I went from being super happy to super not but I did something about it. I began to do what I love.

I know this seems small but one of the things that I fell in love with during my college days was, Pinterest. The more I did things that I love, the more I raised my vibration. Love is a very powerful vibration that can lift you up from a dark place in your life. Rather or not you are happy at this moment, take a moment and think about what you love. You might be surprised how much it’ll warm your heart.

Love always,
