How to Feel Better When You're Sick

It’s been a while since I’ve been sick because It’s quite rare for me to have a cold. I didn’t even realize I was sick until it got completely worst but it’s okay because I have a few “feel better” home remedies up my sleeve.

I’m not a doctor and these tips might not make you feel better but always work for me when I do get sick. I hope you enjoy!

Call in sick. I don’t understand how anyone can go to work while they are sick because it’s not logical for me. If it’s possible for you, call your job and let them know you are sick. It doesn’t make sense for you to come in when you’re a snotty mess. Right?
Drink plenty of orange juice. It’s my go-to beverage when I’m not feeling well.
Eat fruits and veggies, of course. All the health benefits you can get from the earth can make you feel better. Or as they like to say, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away.”
Drink a lot of water. Drinking plenty of water can help your throat and nose when it’s stuffed up. Plus, water is naturally cleansing.
Have some warm tea. Green tea is the best, in my opinion.
Eat soft foods only. I know you want that big juicy burger but you must drink soup or any other foods that soft on your stomach. If you’re as sick as I am then you might can’t taste anything anyway. The burger can wait.
Play a little game. I know it quite cheesy but sometimes games can get your mind off the sickness.
Watch a movie. I don’t watch tv often but it’s nice to play a little Christmas movie on Hallmark or Lifetime.
Read a little. You can read a blog post, a book or anything you desire.
Stay in bed. When was the last time that you actually stopped working? Take advantage of this cold and rest in bed all day even if you don’t fall asleep. Just chill.
Take a shower. I know you want to rest in bed all day long but it’s important to wash up daily, especially since you’ve been sick. If you want, you can take a shower or bath and put on some fresh pair of pajamas.
Get some fresh air. If you’re feeling a little better, you can open a winder for a few minutes or go out for a walk and enjoy the fresh air. It might make you feel much better.
Sleep it off. Sometimes you just need to sleep it off.

Love always,
Princess Hiyah
