DIY: Bananas Hair Mask

I’ve been putting bananas in my hair for more than two years and it has given me amazing results that I’m super grateful for…

Bananas are so rich in vitamins, that it can give your hair the right nutrition that it needs. I usually create a homemade hair mask made with at least one banana (including other natural ingredients) and would normally leave it in my hair for an hour or so. Today, I want to share three reasons why bananas are healthy for your hair.

Bananas can make your damaged hair stronger. Because of all the nutrition bananas provide, it can prevent hair loss as well as split ends, including strengthening your hair by giving it the vitamins it need.

Bananas can reverse the aging process of your hair. It’s not a fact, but some of the research I’ve found online believes that bananas can reverse the aging process and might prevent your hair from becoming grey. Even though it’s not guaranteed, it still has amazing benefits for your hair.

Bananas promotes hair growth. Because I’m so obsessed with growing my hair, I would do anything that can help my hair to grow as long as possible, plus bananas will make your hair smell amazing, so why not add it to your homemade hair mask?

DIY: Banana Hair Mask
Note: You can add as much of these ingredients as you like depending on your hair length and you can keep it in as long as you desire. I usually keep my hair mask in my hair for more than an hour, but everyone’s hair is different. You might find that leaving it in for fifteen minutes to thirty-minutes might work best for you.

You also can add or subtract ingredients as desired. I usually just add anything I like in my hair. Sometimes I’m fine with one type of oil (such as coconut oil) mixed with one banana. Some people just use a banana with nothing else added. It’s completely up to you...

1 Banana
A little bit of apricot oil
A little bit of grapeseed oil
Some water

All you have to do is blend all the ingredients together and then put the hair mask into your hair. You can put on a shower cap to lock in the moisture and leave it in your hair for fifteen minutes or more. When you’re ready, you can wash out the hair mask thoroughly. You’ll notice how moisturized your hair feel in the end, plus it’ll leave your hair with a natural shine. XO

Love always,

  1. This is so cool. I eat a lot of bananas, I'm wondering if eating it that way I'd still absorb all the goodness of them to help my hair!
