How to Embrace Spiritual Growth

Some believe that self-improvement isn’t a good thing because it must mean you think that there is something wrong with you, but I don’t necessarily believe that. Self-growth is a personal journey and the only way it could become a negative is when you think that you need to be this way or that way for others to love you. For instance, it makes sense to embrace this topic when you notice that you are lacking in self-confidence. If you recognize this then it doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with you, it just means that you don’t see how special you really are.

I wanted to share my point of view of what self-growth actually mean to me and how you could apply it into your life.

Self-growth is a selfish journey. Sounds so negative, I know, but it’s the total opposite. When you put your all into making sure you are feeling your best, this benefits others around you. Your spiritual growth will make you feel better and when you feel better on the inside, it will reflect on your outer world. Trust me. It’s completely worth it.

Self-growth isn't about becoming perfect, it’s about embracing not only your spiritual side but what makes you human as well. For instance, the world we live in makes you think that you must feel happy 24/7. Happiness is important but sometimes, we may not feel happy all the time and I’m speaking from my own experience.

I used to beat myself up whenever I wasn’t feeling my best, which made me feel worse, but as soon as I stopped trying to control how I was feeling, I felt at peace with myself. I embrace who I am and how I’m feeling at all times and I know if I’m not feeling my best, that feeling isn’t here to stay. I’ve made peace with what makes me human.

Write a list or think about what makes you feel grateful in life. Sometimes we might focus on what we are lacking instead of embracing what we do have. Gratitude is a great way to see how fortunate we are, especially about things we hardly think about. For example, you might be in perfect health which is one of the best times to show your gratitude for it. Be grateful for the fact that your heart is healthy and beating because it’s keeping you alive.

Note: It’s important to express why you are grateful for whatever you are thinking of because it gives it reason. If you are someone who is usually negative about everything and trying out grateful for the first time, it might not be easy for you. Your vibe might be off when you say, “I’m grateful to have a breath of fresh air.” It will lift your vibe more if you mention why, “...because it feels great to be in great health and it feels great to have healthy lungs.”

Meditate, read more spiritual books, watch positive videos, drink more water and do whatever you can that will make you feel more amazing.

Love always,
